2007 Top 50 Search Engines ListSearch Engine List of The Top 50 US Search Engines as of April 15, 2007 - Google searched most, Yahoo visited most4/15/2007 - Following is a search engine list, the 2007 version of the Top 50 US Search Engines, brought to you by Goss Enterprise Search Engine Advertising Company, in its fourth such annual report. Here are the 2006, 2005 and 2004 lists. It is interesting to note that last year Alta Vista was listed as the number eight search engine. Alexa claims there is no data for Alta Vista. Alta-Vista.com is still operating and we know many people who use it. We question the reason for Alexa reporting no data for the site as if it does not exist. Additionally we question if the rumors are true that Alexa tracks their own office and reports their findings through it. That would explain the reason Alta-Vista has no data; if the server blocks it, nobody uses it; thus there is no data to report; if Alexa were tracking the entire world wide web wouldn't there be data for Alta-Vista? The purpose of this research has always been to identify the top search engines. * - If you are looking at the order, scratching your head this has taken all visits into account which include Yahoo Mail, Hotmail by Microsoft (MSN) and all the other areas they offer beyond simple search. Google is used most for search, hands down, according to all indicators using the Alexa tools. Yahoo and MSN are visited more. Google is searched most.
Here are the 2006, 2005 and 2004 lists.
